An open letter to the Turkish government

We would like to take this opportunity to express our dismay and disgust at the Turkish Governments negative stance with regard to the current intervention in Libya to safeguard the Libyan people from Gaddafi’s wrath after their heroic uprising against his brutal dictatorship.

It would appear that the Turkish government has more sympathy and understanding towards Gaddafi’s forces than for the innocent civilians being slaughtered by them on a daily basis. Which citizens does Prime Minister Erdogan believe deserve protecting? - Certainly not the innocent citizens of Misrata who have been under siege from Gaddafi’s troops for weeks.

For some reason, Turkey has seemingly progressed from the total rejection of coalition intervention to enjoying an influential role within Nato that would appear to be hugely disproportionate with regard to its actual importance on the world stage at the present time.

It is unfortunate that the other Nato countries would appear to be pushing Turkey into a leading role- which the Turkish Government is grabbing as fast as it can – simply because they are a Muslim country. However, just because Turkey is a Muslim country does not automatically imply that they are going to act in the best interests of another Muslim country.

Before the uprising in Libya, it was reported that Turkey had 25,000 citizens working in Libya which is a huge number and took many Libyans by surprise. It could be suggested that perhaps Turkey has more of an interest in keeping Gaddafi in power. It certainly projects an image of the Turkish Government as supporters of Gaddafi rather than supporters of freedom and democracy. In fact some of the statements pronounced by the Turkish Government sound suspiciously similar to Gaddafi’s own propaganda. The Turkish prime minister takes every opportunity to invoke the Iraq/Afghanistan comparison, which is totally misinformed and misleading.

Turkey is also against arming the pro-democracy fighters. Gaddafi’s forces have a huge advantage with regard to weapons, training and experience, as well as the use of vast numbers of foreign mercenaries, so is it acceptable to Turkey for these forces to be allowed to massacre civilians and to put whole cities under siege, but not acceptable to allow these civilians to have the means by which to protect and defend themselves. This is morally reprehensible. You are actually sanctioning the slaughter of innocent civilians, not serving to protect them. The pro-democracy fighters are predominately civilians and professional people who are desperately trying to protect themselves and their families from brutal, unjustified aggression because they had the audacity to demand democracy, freedom and human rights.

Turkey’s apparent enthusiasm to negotiate with Gaddafi with regard to him remaining in power is particularly distasteful. Gaddafi is a psychopathic egomaniac who has consistently lied and deceived the international community. If he is allowed to remain in power, he will simply bide his time until the world’s attention is turned elsewhere and then choose his moment to exact his revenge on all those who dared to oppose him before anyone can stop him. Anyone who believes otherwise is, quite frankly, either unbelievably naïve or totally and utterly ignorant of the situation in Libya and the Gaddafi sadistic psychology.

The Libya people are sincerely grateful to all the coalition countries for their intervention so far. It is a great pity that a country with the potential that Turkey has, is not also included in this heroic, brave and moral intervention. This is a great opportunity for Turkey to highlight its standing in the Islamic world.

Perhaps the Turkish government should look to Qatar for guidance and assistance in this regard

    Yellow-hat Mercenaries
Since Tuesday, February 15, unarmed Libyans have protested against Al-Gaddafi regime in all Libyan cities to replace the dictatorial regime with democratic one, but Mummer Al-Gaddafi who is Libyan dictator for 42 years has used a dictatorial way of dealing with those youth. Libyan dictator has hired mercenaries who use update, heavy weapon to fight unarmed Libyans which seek freedom in the white Revolution. Also, Silvio Berlusconi, Prime Minister of Italy, has supported Libyan dictator by letting Italian fighters hit civilians in Tripoli, and by sending Italian naval fleet to hit Benghazi. The Libyan people are being massacred by Gaddafi’s mercenaries and security thugs who called yellow-hat mercenaries. Libyan dictator has used foreign snipers that shoot Libyans in special parts of their bodies such as head, and chest as well as knee for permanent disabilities in all Libyan cities. There are more than 600 killed and 1000 wounded people in all Libyan cities. It is hard to tell the world what is happening to Libyans because all connections such as internet and telephone from inside Libya to the rest of the world are cut and all media and journalists are forbidden entering to Libya for monitoring hot events (killing protesters off by Mercenaries) with the knowledge that protesters are unarmed. Unfortunately, USA and European Union give this regime a cover (support) to kill Libyans off because there are business with Gaddafi such as petroleum and Gas. It makes no sense that both USA and Europe Union support this regime to do what it does. If we wait, it will be Libyan Genocide like Rwandan Genocide. I would like for you to please open your eyes and give a hand to all Libyans as possible as you can. There are a lack of medicine and blood in all hospitals. All Libyans are filled with fear when they hear that Libyan dictator has hired mercenaries that come by airplane from Italy and France. All Libyans are filled with fear when they hear that the entire world close eyes about what is happening. The elderly, kids, women, and youth seek for save.
I would like for you to please TELL THE WORLD WHAT IS HAPPENING TO LIBYAN PEOPLE who are killed by Al-Gaddafi's regime that is supported by European Union. Please don't close your eyes. It is real massacre. It will be Genocide, if we close eyes. What is happening to Libyans has brought shame on not only USA and European Union, but also on all of us if we close our eyes.
